Policymakers

Succeed 2020 will engage students, parents, and educators across the state over the next few years. Building upon recommendations from the North Dakota Commission on Education Improvement (2006-2010), Succeed 2020 was designed by policymakers and state leaders to improve the transition from school to college and careers for all North Dakota students. The program uses three strategies to meet its goal:

  • Ongoing college and career counseling and planning
  • Access to and success in rigorous academic and CTE programs
  • Targeted and coordinated supports

Through Succeed 2020, the state’s eight regional education Associations (REAs) are implementing evidence-based programs adapted to North Dakota and its communities. Over time, these programs will be able to inform policymakers about what works to improve students’ academic success and their abilities to navigate through their postsecondary and career opportunities.
